In the beginning

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And God saw all that he had made and it was very good.

Well, my blog life is beginning right here. I hope to paint word pictures to express to you, my friends and family who I am, what life is like so far from home, why we do what we do, why we would leave the USA and take our kids so far from grandma and grandpa, what motivates our life goals and so on and so forth.

Unlike God who is without flaw, I have many! You will without fail see them as I bare my thoughts and experiences with you. Transparency is my policy at large, so don't be surprised if I bare my faults and failures with you. These are important teachers in my life. My dad taught me not long ago, the difference in being successful and not is getting up after each fall and doing it again until we get it right. Facing the giant of failure. It is not an easy thing to do but once we face it the battle is more that halfway won.

Because I count it valuable, I want to share these life stories with you and hope that my transparency will encourage you. First, because it helps me to know that I am not the only one that is flawed. But secondly and more importantly, I hope you will be encouraged to take your failures and turn it into life lessons, to grow you to be strong and victorious. We are not failures because we fail.

Over the next couple of posts I will share with you where all this missionary stuff began and the journey that has led us where we are today. Then I will begin to share with you my weekly walks with the Lord.

May God bless you. I hope you will come back and get to know this friend, cousin, sister, niece, aunt or colleague better. I hope that it is a fun and edifying experience.
